Kia officially unveiled its new electric van, the PV5, in the UK during the 2025 CV Show. Targeted at the commercial vehicle sector, the PV5 marks the entry of the Korean automaker into this segment, offering a modern and distinctive design, along with competitive pricing starting at $37,000 (excluding taxes).

The van is based on the new E-GMP.S platform, exclusive to work vehicles, and features a modular structure with standard (51.5 kWh) and long-range (71.2 kWh) battery versions, offering a range of up to around 398 km and a payload capacity of up to 790 kg, depending on the configuration.

The interior of the PV5 adopts a modular concept with a 7-inch digital dashboard and a 12.9-inch multimedia center, compatible with Android Automotive. There are several color and accessory customization options, as well as features like an external power supply system (V2L) for tools, load containment system, and internal dividers optimized for models with two seats.

The DC fast charging capability reaches 150 kW, allowing for a 10% to 80% charge in less than 30 minutes.

In addition to the Cargo version, Kia will also launch a passenger version, the PV5 Passenger, aimed at shared transport services and family use, with five- and seven-seat versions. The brand also plans variants such as box vans, refrigerated vehicles, and light motorhomes.

Sales in the UK will begin on May 1, 2025, through a specialized network of electric van dealerships, with around 60 locations planned. All versions come with a seven-year or 160,000 km warranty.
